There are various groups in different cities/towns located in the Fichtelgebirge District. On this page you´ll get a short overview of them. Some of them also have their own homepages with additional information about their work. If you want to get in contact with one of our groups just use the link at the bottom of each group-site. Visit our

About the naming of scout groups in Germany
In some countries the scout groups in a city or town are numbered . In Germany it is common to name them after mostly historical persons that are either somehow connected to the city of the group or are archetypes for the scouts (e.g. knights, saints, priests or well known scouts). Other groups might as well name themselves after Germanic tribes (e.g. Markomannen, Alemannen), after countrysides (e.g. Bavaria, Thuringia), after fantastic persons and places (e.g. Minas Anor, Minas Tirith or Legolas) or even after cartoon characters (Mickey Mouse). If there is more than one group in a town they of course have different names.
About the ranking of our groups
Within the Fichtelgebirge District groups can have different ranks. A 'Aufbaugruppe' is a recently founded group with very few leaders and often with only one patrol. It isn´t a full member of the district yet. After some months a group can be appointed the rank of 'Siedlung' (engl.: settlement). It is now a full member of the district but not all sections of scouting (cubs, scouts, rovers) are represented in it. A Siedlung may then have its own flag. If it has enough members in all sections and did a good job for a longer time, it is appointed 'Stamm' (engl.: tribe). A Stamm usually consists of between 30 and 200 active scouts in all sections and often has a whole lot of adults in the background for support.
